The Page Playoffs at the 2011 World Wheelchair Curling Championships are complete:

In the Page Playoff 1vs2 Canada (Jim Armstrong) defeated Norway (Rune Lorentsen) 7-4. Canada advances to the Gold Medal Game while the Norway plays in the Semi-Final.

In the Page Playoff 3vs4 Scotland (Aileen Neilson) defeated Russia (Marat Romanov) 8-5.  vs S. The Scotland plays in the Semi-Final and Russia plays in the Bronze Medal Game.

2011 Scotties® Tournament of Hearts - Elaine Dagg-Jackson wins The Joan Mead Builder’s Award

Elaine Dagg-Jackson the National Team Coach from the Canadian Curling Association has won The Joan Mead Builder’s Award at the 2011 Scotties® Tournament of Hearts.

Each year, an award is presented to someone who has made a significant contribution to the growth and development of women’s curling in Canada. The Award has been named in honour of the late Joan Mead who was a producer for CBC. Joan passed away in 2000.

Amber Holland has won the Shot-Of-The-Week Award at the 2011 Scotties® Tournament of Hearts. She won the award for her shot to score 3 in sixth end of the Final.  

The Shot-Of-The-Week Award is presented annually to the player who completed the Scotties Tournament of Hearts’ most outstanding shot.

2011 Scotties® Tournament of Hearts - Amber Holland wins the Sandra Schmirler MVP Award

Amber Holland has won the Sandra Schmirler MVP Award at the 2011 Scotties® Tournament of Hearts

At every Scott Tournament of Hearts, beginning in 1997, a player is selected by the media for her outstanding play during the playoff round.

In 2001, this Award was named The Sandra Schmirler Award in honour of the great Saskatchewan skip who won three Canadian and World titles as well as gold at the Olympics in Nagano, Japan. Sandra’s life was cut short in March, 2000 when she lost a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 36.
